A randomised online experiment gave 1,174 adults aged 25 to 45 an incentivised business problem-solving task, some with a generative-AI assistant and some without. Unaided, the higher-education group beat the lower-education group by 0.548 standard deviations. With AI the gap fell to 0.139 — about three-quarters of the education gap closed
