ASML Says It Can't Build Enough Chipmaking Machines for 2027 or 2028, as Some Customers Already Ask to Order for 2030
On Oct 14, 2026, ASML reported Q3 2026 net sales of €11.7 billion, up 55% on a year earlier, and net income of €5.0 billion, more than double. The company said supply as currently planned for both 2027 and 2028 will not fully meet customer demand, that it is investigating ways to raise 2028 capacity beyond the 30% increase it had already communicated, and that some customers have expressed interest in placing orders for 2029 and even 2030. It guided 2026 net sales to €44–45 billion, the bottom of the €44–60 billion range it set for 2030 at its 2024 Investor Day. The day before, Broadcom's and Intel's CEOs had said access to capital could limit the AI buildout. Orders for 2029–30 are customer interest, not booked orders.
