TSMC, the foundry behind most leading-edge AI accelerators, said 3-nanometer chips were its biggest node at 33% of third-quarter 2026 wafer revenue, while its newest node is already climbing, as 2-nanometer chips made up 8% of TSMC's wafer revenue in Q3 2026, with a steep ramp-up expected in Q4
Advanced nodes, 7-nanometer and below, made up 79% of TSMC's third-quarter wafer revenue: 8% at 2nm, 33% at 3nm, 28% at 5nm and 10% at 7nm. CFO Wendell Huang said he expects the fourth quarter to be supported by the steep ramp-up of 2-nanometer technology.
