Four AI Labs, One Pentagon File
OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and xAI each signed Pentagon AI contracts worth up to $200 million in 2025 — a FOIA lawsuit surfaced the actual terms in September 2026, including Anthropic's refusal to drop its autonomous-weapons and domestic-surveillance limits.

Flagged:The Anthropic-refusal / Hegseth 'supply chain risk' causal link is Intercept-sourced (Sep 8, 2026) but independently corroborated the same day by IBTimes UK's own coverage of the same FOIA release. The underlying designation event itself (Feb 27, 2026) is separately and extensively reported by Axios, ABC News, CNN and TechCrunch, months before this FOIA release existed. Brand colors verified against each company's own primary source, not aggregators: OpenAI #10A37F (openai.com favicon), Anthropic #D97757 (anthropic.com logomark), Google's real 4-color G, xAI confirmed genuinely grayscale (no chromatic brand color exists on x.ai) and rendered white rather than guessed.
