Anthropic Will Spend $100 Million to Train 10,000 'Frontier Deployed Engineers' at Its Customers by End-2027 — $10,000 a Head, Next to a $518 Billion Compute Plan

On Oct 2, 2026, Anthropic announced the Claude Frontier Academy, a $100 million commitment to train 10,000 'Frontier Deployed Engineers' by the end of 2027: hands-on software engineers at its customers who complete a multi-day in-person intensive with Anthropic engineers and then a 12-week residency leading a Claude deployment at their own organisation, earning a Claude Resident Engineer badge and then a Claude Frontier Deployed Engineer badge. The eight launch partners are Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk. Anthropic's framing is that the people who can make AI work inside a real business have become the hardest talent to find; the release's one adoption figure is Commonwealth Bank's claim that its engineers ship up to 3x more code changes than a year ago using AI tools. The money works out to $10,000 an engineer, and against the $518 billion, ten-year infrastructure plan disclosed in Anthropic's IPO prospectus it is about 0.02%. The trainees are customers' employees learning to deploy Claude, which makes the programme sales enablement with a credential as much as a talent initiative.
